Alex's love for the outdoors was ingrained in her from the very beginning. Growing up on the Gulf Coast and coming from a long line of captains, sailors, and pilots - it was an effortless path for her to follow her roots of living a life connected to the water. She spent all months of the year exploring uninhabited barrier islands by boat, climbing through mangroves, and wading seagrass flats - living life dialed into the migration of the fish, tides, and weather. Drawn to cameras from a young age, photography became a way to hang onto rare wildlife encounters and idyllic moments of a life lived in a unique ecosystem.
With a well-rounded portfolio of skills gained from experience in fashion, furniture and photography, Alex graduated from the Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in fashion marketing and management. At the conclusion of her time at SCAD, she chose to continue building on her existing skillset by challenging herself in a new environment. Landscapes have long remained the main driving force of her photography interests, heavily inspired by the black and white fine art photography of Clyde Butcher and Ansel Adams. So, Alex followed the rivers that drained into the Gulf of Mexico upstream, landing at the source of the water in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
For the last several years, Alex has called the GYE home - where she has found the unique opportunity to fulfill her various of passions in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Montana. Spending her time in pursuit of an array of outdoor sports and often with camera in hand, partnering with incredible local businesses of the Gallatin Valley and always planning for the next adventure into the mountains. Through her practice, she tells the story of the environments she immerses herself - encouraging connection with the natural world and inviting others to seek out the experiences earned when you push beyond the comfort zone.
As of October 2025, Alex is no longer currently accepting new client work as she has been called to embark on a new life chapter in the French Alps. Please send an email to alexsaadphoto@gmail.com for any direct contact. Thank you very much for the many wonderful and fulfilling years of business and partnership in the Gallatin Valley.
